The Challenge.
PTSS Lab faced three key challenges to develop a net-new digital presence, within a tight timeline:
- An Online Presence
The PTSS Lab needed a website where their audience could easily find information about the lab and its work, as well as access evidence-based tools for assessing and managing the mental health and wellbeing of first responders and other public safety personnel (PSP).
- Stakeholder Engagement
The website also needed to acknowledge existing stakeholders and connect with new stakeholders to develop future partnerships and expand the lab’s initiatives.
- Branding & Structure
The PTSS Lab required a visual identity that aligned with both the University of Regina and acknowledged their target audience of first responders and other PSP. This included developing a logo, colour scheme, and typography, as well as an easily navigable site structure to direct and support their target audiences.
Our Strategy.
Troon Technologies leveraged its technical expertise to efficiently develop a custom website tailored to PTSS Lab’s unique needs, completing the project within the accelerated one-month timeline. Built with functionality and scalability in mind, our approach included:
- Branding Development
Designed a new logo, selected colours and fonts that resonated with both the University of Regina brand and PSP audiences.
- Content Creation and Organization
Developed and structured website content to distinguish between research and practical solutions, ensuring ease of access and clear UX.
- Stakeholder-Centered Design
Tailored navigation and layout to accommodate both primary and secondary audiences.
- French Translation
Ensured accessibility for a bilingual audience.
- Customized WordPress Development
Built a fully responsive, easy-to-maintain website that could be updated as new research and resources became available.
Final Design.

Working with Troon was a great experience. They were excellent to work with, responsive to our requests, and diligent in their work to meet our timeline requirements. Their design work and clear processes made it easy to navigate the whole project. They exceeded our expectations.
