The Challenge.

Developed in 2012, MS INFoRm was initially a paper-based system to help those living with Multiple Sclerosis manage their fatigue, which fueled a study at Queen’s University. The outdated and limited delivery model needed a web-based process to improve UX and expand the study’s participant base. Troon was tasked with creating a web application that could meet those requirements while maintaining AODA and PHIPA compliance, as well as providing manipulatable data to the research team.

Our Strategy.

Troon harnessed the power of the Yii 2.0 Framework and Vue.js platform, using PHP and AngularJS with a MySQL database to create a web application that had Fit-bit-like ease. To ensure the team could collect critical research data, the platform was structured to explore data in Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) for deeper analysis.

Using Troon’s proven expertise of the healthcare industry and compliance issues, we created a web-based application that had a streamlined UX for both the research team and the end users.

Conclusion

The proof was in the results: The research team conducted a statistically relevant study to prove out their hypothesis, gather data in a manipulative form, and maintained patient confidentiality.
