It provides timely access to specialists, reduces costs, and offers convenience for patients, especially those with mobility issues. The Troon Telemedicine platform remotely connects healthcare practitioners and patients regardless of their location.

The Challenge.
To provide real impact for users, the platform needed to be fully customizable and offer seamless operation for secure video calls, readily accessible recorded content, patient data collection and activity tracking, online scheduling, and more. For true accessibility, it had to connect browser-to-browser without any additional software downloading or installation requirements.
Troon was also tasked with creating a custom web application including a dashboard to connect, control, filter, and report the data.
Our Strategy.
Recognizing the critical nature of seamless operation, the Troon Telemedicine platform was designed with a microservices architecture, minimizing downtime risk and ensuring efficient data processing. The Troon WebRTC application was meticulously developed from scratch, utilizing the Node tech stack for its extensive open-source code and robust real-time support for sockets. To prioritize security, HIPAA-compliant servers were chosen for data storage, and AWS services with regional servers (US) were adopted to keep data within the country of service.
Final Design.
Conclusion
Troon Telemedicine is a compliant and secure, turn-key solution ensuring more people receive medical advice while lowering service costs. In its first use case, Troon Telemedicine resulted in a 75% reduction of hospital readmissions by connecting patients directly—and safely—to a pharmacist. Troon Telemedicine creates connections between patients and practitioners that results in more people accessing the right healthcare experts, right when they need it.
